The Environment

We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously at Godden’s.

Our Farm

Our Farm

On the farm we typically finish 120 store lambs every year. These graze permanent grass which is managed in line with British and European guidelines for sustainable and regenerative agriculture. We are working hard to improve the soil every year; and this means sequestering more carbon. We do this by using the absolute minimum of pesticides and herbicides, by encouraging as many different types of plants as possible to grow on the farm, by making hay instead of silage and by never over grazing the fields. To find out more about how we manage the farm, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be delighted to hear from you.

Along with our own grass-fed lambs, we sell grass-fed lamb and beef, outdoor reared pork, whole free-range chickens, free range turkeys and a variety of chicken cuts from other British farms. Only where it is necessary, because of price, availability, or consistency, do we sell imported products.

Our Solar Panels

Our Solar Panels

Our whole building is covered with solar panels supplied by Chiltern Solar Ltd of Chesham. These generate a substantial portion of the energy that we use, especially when the sun is shining!

Reduced Packaging

Reduced Packaging

We have reduced the use of plastic and polystyrene packaging throughout our business wherever we can. However, we may be able to reduce it still further with your order.

Please telephone 01494 773 358 to find out more. We would be delighted to hear from you.

The Godden family have successfully run their family business in the local area for 70 years and are proud of their team and their shared aim in delivering honestly priced, premium quality British produce to their discerning customers.
